REQUIREMENTS
Distance:
-
In order to enter this event, the swimmer should be confident that they can swim the distance in rough water unassisted.
-
The swimmer must have completed an open water swim of 3 km or more for the 5 km event, and 6 km or more for the 10 km event in the last 2 years (no proof required; honesty policy).
Kayak accompaniment:
-
Because the St. Lawrence River can be a busy water way and minimal buoys are used for this event, all swimmers must be accompanied by a kayaker.
-
Participants can rent kayaks in Kingston.
-
Ideally, swimmers should come with a kayaker. If you cannot find one, email kingwoflswim@gmail.com as soon as possible. The committee will make every effort to find you a kayaker.
Time:
-
There will be a 3-hour cutoff for the 5km event and a 5.5-hour cutoff for the 10 km event. Swimmers that are not in sight of the finish point at this time will be pulled from the water and taken to the finish line by motorboat.
Registration for the King Wolf Swim 2018 is now open. Read the requirements below before registering. A detailed description of the kayaker's responsibilities is available at the link.
Book your accommodation and kayak rental ASAP as Kingston is busy in the summer. A list of suggested hotels is available under the Kingston tab.
